About Oguni

The Oguni area 小国 is tucked away at the top of Kumamoto Prefecture; between Aso and the Kuju mountain range. Famous for plentiful hot spring areas, soba restaurants, cedar trees and a great curtain waterfall you can walk behind. The nearby Aso area is home to the world’s biggest inhabited volcanic caldera, known as Mount Aso or 阿蘇山.  It’s also Japan’s largest grassland area and home to some gorgeous scenery and an active volcano you can visit. Getting to Kurokawa Onsen

Kurokawa Onsen is situated in the north of Kumamoto Prefecture in the Minami Oguni area around 30 minutes drive from the Aso caldera. The easiest and quickest way to reach Kurokawa Onsen is by car. From Kumamoto City take Route 57 towards Aso then follow the Milk Road around the edge of the caldera .....
